HEY, BEAUTIES!
Our names are Sarah & Katherine we are both proud owners and founders of Dolled Up Beauty NZ. We are sisters in business who both have a passion for beauty ever since we were little.
Here’s a bit about our journey.
Prior to starting our business we both worked in retail. We didn’t enjoy our jobs at all, in fact we dreaded waking up every morning to go to a job we didn’t enjoy.
The only thing we looked forward to each day was trying to take our lunch breaks at the same time, lol!
After a few years of working in retail we realised this was not the life for us. We wanted much more for ourselves. We wanted to wake up every morning feeling passionate and motivated to work at something we do best. We wanted to be our own boss, work our own hours and have financial freedom.
This is when our determination to start our own business became our goal.

In 2019 we took a lash course and absolutely loved it. The course was the easy part. We now needed to practice lashing as much as we could and we did that on family and friends. We took as long as 6 hours to complete our first few sets. We had moments of doubt but we stayed persistent a few months later we were lashing like pros!
We opened Dolled Up Beauty NZ on the 18th March 2020. At this time we were still working part time in retail as we built our clientele. We went from 2 - 3 clients a week which soon turned into 20 clients a week. We quit our jobs and invested all our time into our business.
We were finally living our dream job.
In 2021 we introduced brow services to our business. In 2022 we started teeth whitening and tooth gems. We love everything beauty so we wanted to do it all!
In just 4 years we have accomplished so much within our business.
We can confidently say we have answered our calling but we most definitely have more work to do. One piece of advice we could give to anyone is as simple as “Dream big, stay focused and make it happen”
