HEY, BEAUTIES!
We’re Sarah and Katherine, the proud founders of Dolled Up Beauty NZ! We’re sisters, best friends, and business partners with a lifelong passion for all things beauty.
Here’s a little about our journey:
Before starting Dolled Up Beauty NZ, we worked in retail—a chapter we didn’t exactly love. Every morning felt like a struggle, and the only bright spot in our day was trying to coordinate our lunch breaks so we could hang out together (seriously, that’s what kept us going!).
After a few years of feeling stuck, we knew we wanted more for ourselves. We dreamed of a life where we could wake up excited to do something we were truly passionate about. We wanted to work for ourselves, set our own hours, and build a life of financial freedom.
That’s when we decided to turn our dream into a reality.

In 2019, we took our first big step and enrolled in a lash course. We fell in love with the process right away, but let’s be honest—it wasn’t easy. Our first sets took six hours to complete, and there were definitely moments of doubt. But we stayed consistent, practiced nonstop on family and friends, and within a few months, we were lashing like pros.
On March 18, 2020, Dolled Up Beauty NZ officially opened its doors! At first, we balanced part-time retail jobs while building our clientele, starting with just 2–3 clients a week. But through hard work and dedication, those numbers quickly grew to 20 clients a week. That’s when we made the bold decision to quit our retail jobs and commit fully to our dream.
Since then, we’ve expanded our business in so many exciting ways. In 2021, we added brow services, and by 2022, we were offering teeth whitening and tooth gems. We absolutely love everything beauty and couldn’t wait to do it all!
Four years later, we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come. We’ve turned a dream into a thriving business, and while it hasn’t always been easy, it’s been worth every moment.
To anyone out there chasing their goals, our advice is simple: “Dream big, stay focused, and make it happen!”
